Job summary

Saputo Cheese USA Inc. is seeking a Quality Manager to safeguard product safety and quality, overseeing a continuous quality program across manufacturing and distribution.

You will lead QA activities, manage the plant laboratory, and drive regulatory compliance and cost controls while mentoring staff. Responsibilities include implementing SQF 2000, auditing, labeling reviews, and cross-functional collaboration to sustain high standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a science-based area of study and a minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience.
• Internal candidates: 5+ years dairy/food plant experience with 2+ years supervisory.
• Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices.
• Knowledge of sanitation systems and procedures.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent verbal/written communication skills.
• Understanding of change management.
• Ability to adapt and lead through change.
• Ability to multitask effectively.
• Strong organization, prioritization and attention to detail.
• Team leadership across functions.
• Ability to select, coach and retain staff.

Responsibilities

• Manages the operation of the plant laboratory, ensuring supplies and equipment are available.
• Ensures product safety, regulatory compliance, and adherence to company standards.
• Drives Continuous Improvement in quality and process optimization.
• Coaches, trains and develops management staff and plant employees in QA.
• Develops and maintains Hazard Analysis Risk Based Preventative Controls program.
• Handles customer complaint data into systems and tracks trends.
• Implements and maintains SQF 2000 quality systems.
• Reviews product labels for regulatory and company compliance.
• Ensures raw milk quality standards are met.
• Oversees tests on materials and products.
• Communicates KPI results to leadership with regular reporting.
• Maintains sanitation procedures and troubleshooting of sanitation systems.
• Documents all required quality tests and activities.
• Assists Plant Manager with audits/inspections.
• Manages expenses including labor and Cost of Quality using CI methods.
• Responsible for Non-GMO activities and contract packaging quality.
• Cooperates as change agent across departments.
• Leads with ethics and manages core duties of a manager.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
