Job summary

Sulzer is seeking a QA Manager to lead Quality Assurance and Supplier Quality at our Leeds site, overseeing a global supply chain and a 4+ person team. The role focuses on implementing robust QA strategies and ensuring compliance with industry standards.

You will work closely with Operations, Engineering and Procurement to meet customer expectations and drive continuous improvement across manufacturing and supply networks.

Qualifications

• Proven QA leadership in manufacturing.
• Experience with supplier quality management.
• Knowledge of fabrication, machining and assembly processes.
• Experience developing Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
• Understanding of quality management systems and continuous improvement.
• Strong stakeholder management and leadership skills.
• Ability to influence both operational teams and external suppliers.
• Knowledge of Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) techniques.
• Experience with large engineered equipment and complex pumps.
• Understanding of NORSOK standards.
• Experience in regulated industries (energy, oil & gas, water, nuclear or renewables).

Responsibilities

• Lead QA and Supplier Quality at the Leeds facility.
• Develop quality strategies, policies and procedures aligned with business objectives.
• Manage and develop a high performing Quality and Supplier Quality team.
• Drive supplier quality performance across a large global supply chain.
• Ensure robust quality planning through Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
• Lead investigations into quality issues and implement CAPA.
• Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Procurement and PM teams.
• Oversee auditing activities and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Apply inspection/testing methodologies, including NDT where applicable.
• Support customer inspections, witness testing and quality reviews.
