Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Quality Assurance Tech in Seattle, WA to perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections of parts, assemblies, and materials. You will identify nonconformances, document findings, and collaborate with engineering and quality teams to implement corrective actions.

The role requires reading drawings, working with precision inspection tools, and supporting root cause analysis and FAI activities in line with AS9102-like standards.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of software development or 2+ years of technical support experience.
• Experience troubleshooting and debugging technical systems.
• Experience in Unix.
• Experience scripting in modern program languages.
• Experience reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications.
• Experience with precision torque, measurement and inspection devices.
• 2+ years of experience in a quality inspection role in manufacturing or aerospace/defense environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections per documented instructions, drawings, specifications, and control plans using tools.
• Identify, classify, and document nonconformances with defects, quantities and evidence.
• Communicate inspection results and nonconformance findings to engineering and quality teams.
• Propose mitigations or corrective solutions for nonconformances and escalate as needed.
• Operate and maintain inspection equipment such as calipers, micrometers, CMMs, and gauges.
• Maintain inspection records, certificates of conformance, and traceability docs.
• Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action activities as needed.
• Support FAI activities in accordance with AS9102 or equivalent standards.
• Monitor trends in nonconformance data to support continuous improvement.
