Job summary

RTCA is seeking a Quality Inspector in Fife, WA to inspect raw materials, in‑process parts, and finished components against drawings and AS9100/ISO standards. You will document findings, support FAI and AS9102, and work with cross‑functional teams to drive quality improvements.

You will use precision tools (micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, height gauges) and interpret GD&T. This is a full‑time, onsite role with potential for swing/weekend shifts and a compensation range of $25–$45 per hour.

Qualifications

• Experience in quality inspection within aerospace, precision machining, or manufacturing environments.
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and technical documentation.
• Familiarity with AS9100 and/or ISO 9001 quality management systems.
• Knowledge of GD&T (ASME Y14.5).
• Proficiency with standard inspection equipment (micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, height gauges).
• Ability to complete inspection and quality documentation accurately.
• Strong attention to detail and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform dimensional and visual inspections on raw materials, in-process parts, assemblies, and finished components.
• Interpret engineering drawings and specifications per ASME Y14.5 GD&T requirements.
• Verify conformance to customer, regulatory, and internal quality requirements including AS9100/ISO standards.
• Maintain inspection records, traceability, and quality documentation.
• Support First Article Inspection (FAI) and AS9102 documentation.
• Identify nonconformities and collaborate on containment and corrective actions.
• Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
