Job summary

Smithfield Foods in Nashville, TN is seeking a Food Safety & Quality Assurance professional to uphold the highest standards across production. You will perform routine sanitation checks, monitor HACCP and USDA compliance, and track products from start to finish, identifying issues and driving corrective actions.

You will work with production teams to resolve root causes, support QA programs through training, and help ensure our brands, including Smithfield and Nathan's Famous, are delivered

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Ability to read and write in English.
• Knowledge of QA principles, food science, meat processing, and USDA regulations.
• Capable of creating, interpreting, and maintaining technical documents.

Responsibilities

• Quality Verification: conduct routine inspections including process, metal detection, cooking, and chilling to ensure products meet quality standards.
• Quality Improvement: drive continuous improvement, address deficiencies, identify root causes, and support QA programs.
• Food Safety & HACCP Compliance: develop/enforce HACCP programs, monitor critical control points, and ensure safety protocols.
• Regulatory & Sanitation Oversight: ensure USDA requirements, assist with safety docs, perform pre-op sanitation checks.
• Communication & Training: report safety issues, recommend corrective actions, and support plant training.
