Job summary

Smithfield Foods is seeking a Quality Assurance professional to join the Food Safety & Quality Assurance team. You will perform routine sanitation checks, enforce HACCP and USDA regulations, and track products from start to finish while driving corrective actions.

You will monitor quality, document results, oversee sanitation and GMPs, and collaborate with production teams to resolve issues and improve processes. Training and performance assessment support are also part of the role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Ability to read and write in English.
• Knowledge of QA principles, food science, meat processing, and USDA regulations.
• Ability to create, interpret, and maintain technical documents and reports.
• Experience using monitoring equipment and data analysis.
• Proficient with MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Quality Verification: conduct routine inspections incl. process, metal detection, cooking, and chilling.
• Quality Improvement: drive continuous improvement and support QA programs.
• Food Safety & HACCP Compliance: develop and enforce HACCP programs and monitor critical control points.
• Regulatory & Sanitation Oversight: ensure USDA requirements are met and assist with documentation updates.
• Communication & Training: report safety issues and support plant training.
