Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Internal candidates with 4+ years of experience may have education requirements waived.
• Must be able to read and write in English.
• Knowledge of QA principles, food science, meat processing, and USDA regulations.
• Able to create, interpret, and maintain technical documents and reports.
• Experienced with monitoring equipment, data analysis, and responding to inquiries with evidence-based decisions.
• Proficient in office software and able to follow multiple formats.

Responsibilities

• Quality Verification: conduct routine inspections (process, metal detection, cooking, chilling) to ensure quality; identify out-of-spec products and coordinate corrective actions.
• Quality Improvement: drive continuous improvement by addressing deficiencies and root causes; support QA programs and trainings.
• Food Safety & HACCP Compliance: develop and enforce HACCP programs; monitor critical control points.
• Regulatory & Sanitation Oversight: ensure USDA compliance; assist with safety documentation and pre-op sanitation checks.
• Communication & Training: report safety issues and support plant training; step in during absences.
