Job summary

Zendesk is seeking a Quality Engineering Manager in San Francisco to define and implement QA processes and tools for a highly technical SaaS product. You will lead a team across the stack, drive automation initiatives, and ensure on-time delivery of high-quality features in a fast-paced environment.

You will partner with Product, Development, and Service Engineering to align quality goals with business objectives and continuously improve testing practices to reduce defects and release risk.

Qualifications

• BSCS or related with 5+ years hands-on QA/engineering for high-availability web apps.
• 2+ years hiring, managing, mentoring QA staff.
• Familiarity with test automation frameworks such as Selenium, Watir or similar tools.
• Experience with Continuous Integration servers - Jenkins strongly preferred.
• Track record delivering high-quality software on-time using Agile methodologies.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Establish and optimize manual and automated QA processes to fit the SDLC.
• Lead and grow a QA team across the application stack.
• Create repeatable test plans and black-box test frameworks for all product components.
• Recommend and implement improvements to automation tools and standards across platforms.
• Align with Engineering Management to ensure on-time delivery of high-quality features.
• Manage quality metrics across multiple projects to support Zendesk goals.
• Collaborate with management to assess feasibility of product features.
• Prioritize competing tasks to get things done.
