Job summary

Sphera is seeking a QA Manager to lead quality assurance across multiple product lines, owning QA execution and team leadership for high-quality releases. You will drive testing practices, oversee automation, and guide a shift-left, AI-driven quality transformation across squads.

In this hands-on management role, you’ll mentor QA engineers, coordinate with Engineering Managers, Product Owners, and stakeholders, ensuring optimal release readiness and reliability of product lines.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software QA experience including 2+ years in a leadership role.
• Experience managing QA across multiple products/projects simultaneously.
• Led a team's transition from manual to automated testing with planning and tooling.
• Strong understanding of test automation principles and the test pyramid.
• Interest in AI-assisted development/testing and AI DLC approaches.
• Experience with heterogeneous/legacy tech stacks is a plus.
• Familiarity with risk-based testing and regression planning for enterprise SaaS.
• Excellent stakeholder communication with technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience with Azure DevOps or similar test/work management tooling.
• Domain familiarity with risk management or compliance software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage and mentor a team of QA engineers across multiple product lines.
• Allocate QA resources across concurrent projects and sprints based on priorities.
• Foster a culture of quality ownership and continuous improvement.
• Own QA strategy and test planning across assigned product lines.
• Define risk-based test coverage balancing thoroughness with speed.
• Ensure automation is invested in and maintained, avoiding over-reliance on UI tests.
• Drive QA vs. Engineering ownership clarity within squads.
• Lead transition from manual to automated testing within teams.
• Assess and manage automation investments across varied stacks.
• Pilot and scale AI-assisted QA practices with QA leadership.
• Track quality metrics and escalate risks with constructive communication.
