Job summary

Synechron seeks a QA Engineer to design, develop, and execute automated test strategies for web apps and APIs, ensuring product quality and reliability across delivery pipelines.

Ideal candidates have hands-on automation with ALM Octane, HyperExecute, and Harness, plus Selenium/Playwright/Cypress experience and strong CI/CD integration.

Qualifications

• Experience in designing, developing, and executing automated test strategies.
• Hands-on QA Automation across web apps and APIs.
• Proficiency with ALM Octane and test management tooling.
• CI/CD integration expertise for automated pipelines.
• Strong knowledge of Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or TestNG.
• API testing with Postman or Rest Assured.

We are looking for a highly skilled QA Engineer with hands-on experience in test automation, ALM Octane, HyperExecute or Harness. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing automated test strategies to ensure product quality, reliability, and performance across web applications and APIs.

Additional Information*

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Charlotte, NC is $90k - $100k/year & benefits (see below).

The Role

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks and test scripts.
• Execute functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing.
• Utilize OpenText ALM Octane for test planning, defect tracking, and test management.
• Implement and manage test execution pipelines using HyperExecute.
• Integrate automated testing within CI/CD pipelines using Harness.
• Develop and execute API automation and UI automation test cases.
• Collaborate with development, product, and DevOps teams to ensure quality throughout the SDLC.
• Analyze test results, identify defects, and work with development teams to resolve issues.
• Create and maintain test documentation, test plans, and test reports.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives.

Requirements:

• Strong experience in Software Testing and QA Automation.
• Hands-on experience with OpenText ALM Octane.
• Experience working with HyperExecute for scalable cloud-based test execution.
• Strong knowledge of Harness and CI/CD automation.
• Experience with automation tools such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or TestNG.
• Experience in API testing using Postman, Rest Assured, or similar tools.
• Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Familiarity with defect management and test reporting tools.

Preferred, but not required:

• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.
• Performance testing experience using JMeter or LoadRunner.
• Understanding of DevOps and Continuous Testing practices.
• Experience in test data management and test environment setup.
