As a QA Engineer / Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET), your challenge is to ensure the quality, reliability, scalability, and performance of enterprise applications through robust test automation and quality engineering practices. You will collaborate with developers, product owners, business analysts, DevOps teams, and stakeholders to design and implement comprehensive testing strategies across web applications, APIs, databases, and cloud environments. Leveraging expertise in Test Automation, API Testing, Selenium, Playwright, Java/.NET, CI/CD, Performance Testing, and Agile Methodologies, you will help deliver high-quality software solutions while driving continuous improvement in test processes and automation frameworks.

The Role
Responsibilities
- Minimum 7+ years of Quality Engineering and Test Automation experience with strong hands-on SDET expertise.
- Strong experience in designing and developing test automation frameworks from scratch.
- Hands-on experience with Selenium WebDriver, Playwright, Cypress, or similar automation tools.
- Experience testing modern web applications built using React.js, Angular, or other front-end frameworks.
- Strong experience in API Testing using Postman, Rest Assured, SoapUI, or similar tools.
- Experience validating RESTful APIs, Microservices, and Event-Driven Architectures.
- Hands-on experience with SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or other databases.
- Experience working with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Harness.
- Experience using test management tools such as ALM Octane, Jira, Zephyr, or Xray.
- Strong understanding of Unit Testing, Integration Testing, Regression Testing, Functional Testing, and End-to-End Testing.
- Experience with Performance Testing tools such as JMeter, LoadRunner, or Gatling.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Experience working with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes/OpenShift.
- Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and SDLC processes.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, defect management, and communication skills.
- Banking and Financial Services experience is highly preferred.
Requirements
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks for web, API, and backend applications.
- Create automated test scripts using Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or other test automation tools.
- Develop and execute API automation suites to validate service functionality, reliability, and security.
- Collaborate with development teams to ensure quality is embedded throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Review business and technical requirements and create comprehensive test strategies and test plans.
- Build automation solutions integrated with CI/CD pipelines to support continuous testing.
- Perform functional, integration, regression, end-to-end, and system testing across multiple applications.
- Validate application performance, scalability, and reliability through performance and load testing activities.
- Analyze defects, identify root causes, and work with development teams to drive issue resolution.
- Create and maintain test cases, test scripts, and test execution reports within ALM Octane or other test management platforms.
- Implement database validation and backend testing using SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Participate actively in Agile ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Daily Standups, Reviews, and Retrospectives.
- Monitor test execution results and quality metrics and provide regular status updates to stakeholders.
- Support SIT, UAT, production deployments, and post-release validation activities.
- Develop reusable utilities and testing tools that improve productivity and test coverage.
- Perform code reviews of automation scripts and enforce quality engineering best practices.
- Drive shift-left testing initiatives and support continuous quality improvement programs.
- Collaborate with DevOps teams to optimize testing processes within cloud and containerized environments.
- Ensure compliance with security, regulatory, and organizational quality standards.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Playwright Automation Framework.
- Experience testing Microservices and Cloud-Native Applications.
- Knowledge of BDD frameworks such as Cucumber or SpecFlow.
- Experience with Service Virtualization and Mocking frameworks.
- Exposure to AI-powered testing tools and intelligent automation platforms.
- ISTQB, Certified Agile Tester, or equivalent QA certifications are a plus.
- Strong experience in Banking, Financial Services, Wealth Management, or Capital Markets domains.
