Job summary

Synechron is seeking a detail-oriented QA Automation Engineer to design, develop, and execute automated test scripts for our software applications. You will drive test automation across UI, API, and integration layers and collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment.

We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced QA Automation Engineer to join our quality assurance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing automated test scripts to ensure the quality and performance of our software applications.

Additional Information

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Chandler, AZ is $90K - $100k/year & benefits (see below).

The Role

Responsibilities:

• Works with project teams to ensure standard quality practices/processes are followed.
• Conducts end-to-end testing on applications and technology, to ensure that business, technical, functional requirements are being met.
• Designs and Executes test scripts based upon test strategy/plans in an effort to identify defects prior to production.
• Define and lead test strategy, planning, and QA best practices.
• Drive test automation across UI, API, and integration layers.
• Collaborate with PO, BA, Tech Lead, and team members during Agile ceremonies.
• Ensure effective test coverage, quality gates, and defect management.
• Promote continuous improvement and mentor QE team members.
• Communicate quality status, risks, and dependencies clearly.

Requirement

• Quick learner, self-starter, critical thinker and team player who requires minimal supervision to excel in a dynamic environment
• Deep understanding of the software development and QA life cycle processes (including test planning, test case design, automation, execution, defect tracking and reporting)
• Years of QA manual and regression testing
• Java development and object oriented design experience building solutions for UI, services and databases automation
• Experience with Selenium writing, executing and debugging automation scripts
• Experience with SoapUI creating test cases and managing larger test suites
• Experience with SQL and backend application testing of Oracle and Cassandra
• Prior experience implementing process improvements in support of testing or software development such as risk based testing
• Expertise in designing, writing, maintaining, executing and debugging Java automation tests running on top of Selenium
• Proficient with development tools: Confluence, Jira, Bitbucket, Maven, Jenkins
• Strong experience in end to end test life cycle management using HP ALM and/or Jenkins
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Solid understanding of Agile and Waterfall SDLC methodologies

Preferred Skills

• Domain knowledge in banking and financial applications
• Exposure to Authentication and Identity technologies
• Capable proficiency with Splunk tool for issue analysis
• Exposure to mobile testing preferably with Mobile Labs
• Prior experience of working with globally distributed teams
