Advanced Solutions International, Inc. is a global software company serving not-for-profits and membership organizations.

We seek a Software Quality Assurance Engineer to shape acceptance criteria, write and execute test plans, and reduce production defects. You will automate UI and API tests with Selenium, Playwright, and Cypress, perform exploratory testing, own defects to resolution, and help ensure release readiness in a hybrid remote work environment with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience.
• 4+ years of experience in software quality assurance or testing, preferably on enterprise-level applications.
• Proficiency using automated UI test tools such as Selenium, Playwright, or Cypress, with some scripting ability for test automation and room to grow.
• Experience with Postman, REST Assured, or similar tools for validating backend services.
• Strong experience writing test plans and test cases and validating new features and fixes.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and integrating automated tests into build processes.
• Skilled in manual and exploratory testing techniques to uncover edge cases and ensure product stability.
• Experience with Visual Studio, Azure DevOps, and Git.
• Good SQL and relational database knowledge, preferably Azure SQL.
• Practical experience in an Agile environment using team-level Scrum, comfortable in a model where the dedicated Scrum Master role is retired and team facilitation sits with player/coach engineering managers.
• Detail oriented and organized, with strong time management skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Able to work independently and as a team player, and comfortable with ambiguity in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Testing the specifications you are assigned, serving as a quality owner for one or more specifications at a time.
• Shaping acceptance criteria for testability by collaborating during refinement.
• Writing and executing the test plan against acceptance criteria.
• Automating where it pays off with automated UI and API tests.
• Performing exploratory, regression, and functional testing where automation is not feasible.
• Owning defects to resolution and partnering with developers to fix.
• Driving escaped defects down through root-cause analysis.
• Supporting the release-readiness decision with coverage and risk assessment.
• Performing other job-related duties as assigned.
