Job summary

Inductive Automation is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer I to join our QA team. You will develop and execute tests across Ignition (desktop, web, API, and mobile), contribute to automated and manual testing, and report on test progress.

The role supports hybrid work arrangements and requires a foundational understanding of software testing within a fast-paced industrial automation environment. You will validate bug fixes, develop test plans, and collaborate with development to understand

Qualifications

• Proficiency with at least one well‑known programming language (Java, Python, JavaScript)
• Good understanding of the SDLC (Software Development Lifecycle) and each of the phases
• Experience interacting with and querying SQL databases (MS SQL Server, MySQL, similar)
• Bachelor’s degree in CS/CE or related field is required or preferred

Responsibilities

• Validating low complexity issues (bugs and features) and adding test coverage
• Contributing to automated test cases at an introductory level
• Participating in testing contributions within the development lifecycle including regression testing
• Developing and executing test plans covering all functional requirements
• Documenting and tracking defects using issue tracking tools
• Staying up to date with industry trends and best practices in software testing
