Job summary

Advanced Solutions International, Inc. is seeking a Software Quality Assurance Engineer to test specifications, shape acceptance criteria, and own test plans across one or more specs through refinement to validation.

You will design and execute plans, automate UI/API tests, and perform exploratory testing to ensure features meet requirements. The role emphasizes defect ownership, collaboration with product and engineering, and contributing to release-readiness in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience.
• 4+ years of experience in software quality assurance or testing.
• Proficiency using automated UI test tools such as Selenium, Playwright, or Cypress, with some scripting ability for test automation.
• Experience with Postman, REST Assured, or similar tools for validating backend services.
• Strong experience writing test plans and test cases and validating new features and fixes.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and integrating automated tests into build processes.
• Skilled in manual and exploratory testing techniques to uncover edge cases and ensure product stability.
• Experience with Visual Studio, Azure DevOps, and Git.
• Good SQL and relational database knowledge, preferably Azure SQL.
• Practical experience in an Agile environment using team-level Scrum.

Responsibilities

• Testing the specifications you are assigned.
• Shaping acceptance criteria for testability.
• Writing and executing the test plan.
• Automating where it pays off with automated UI and API tests.
• Testing what automation cannot with exploratory, regression, and functional testing.
• Owning defects to resolution and collaborating with developers.
• Driving escaped defects down and contributing to upstream prevention.
• Supporting the release-readiness decision and gating processes.
• Performing other job-related duties as assigned.
