Job summary

Healthie, a leading AI-native EHR platform, seeks a QA Engineer to test a large, complex system across web apps and APIs. You will work with engineers, product managers, and designers to ensure what we ship meets clinician and patient needs.

You’ll own product areas, perform manual and automated testing, and contribute to Playwright-based automation while leveraging AI tools to accelerate testing and documentation. This hybrid role is based in NYC or LA.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of QA experience testing web apps and APIs.
• Proficient in creating thorough manual test plans and evaluating automation opportunities.
• Hands-on experience with Playwright or similar (Cypress, Selenium, WebdriverIO).
• Strong instincts to spot edge cases and diagnose failures.
• Fast learner, able to get up to speed on new features.
• Solid API testing skills and understanding of frontend-backend integration.
• Experience using AI tools daily, including Claude Code, with critical review.
• Clear communicator with engineers, product managers, and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Write and execute manual and automated test plans for web applications and APIs across the Healthie platform.
• Contribute to our Playwright automation suite, with judgment about which tests are worth automating and which are better left manual.
• Perform API testing using tools like Postman to validate backend services and data flows.
• Test with the customer in mind, thinking about how real clinicians and patients use the product.
• Learn new product areas quickly and build an understanding of where they're likely to break.
• Collaborate with engineers and product teams throughout the development lifecycle to catch issues early.
• Document defects with clear, detailed reproduction steps.
• Use AI tools, including Claude Code and other agentic coding tools, to accelerate test case generation, edge case discovery, automation, and documentation, while reviewing the output critically.
