Job summary

GVI Inc in Newport, RI is seeking an Engineering Technician III to join QA at the Depot and related shops. You will inspect work, ensure compliance with gov instructions, and help develop quality plans and procedures.

With 3+ years in QA for depot repair or manufacturing, you must be able to obtain a DoD secret clearance, be proficient in Microsoft Office, and understand ISO 9001-2008. You will train staff and coordinate QA activities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus 3+ years in QA in depot repair/manufacturing.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD secret clearance.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office; familiar with ISO 9001-2008.
• Detail-oriented with effective cross-department communication.

Responsibilities

• QA support of programs at the Depot, Hose/Tow Cable shops and QA Receiving.
• Evaluate and inspect work per government work instructions and drawings.
• Develop, review and implement quality plans and procedures.
• Train and schedule new hires for QA tasks.
• Operate NDA and Navy CM systems supporting QA applications.
• Task and schedule QA inspectors for all programs.
• Monitor audits to identify trends and discrepancies.
