Job summary

GVI Inc., a subsidiary of Three Saints Bay, LLC, seeks an Engineering Technician IV in Newport, RI to support QA across the Depot, Hose/Tow Cable fabrication, and QA Receiving. The role requires inspection against instructions, drawings, and specs, and the development of QA plans.

Responsibilities include training new hires, coordinating QA inspectors, monitoring audits, maintaining QA proficiency, and contributing to documentation control and MRB activities.

Qualifications

• High school or GED required; technical diploma with 3+ years QA experience in depot repair/manufacturing.
• Ability to obtain/maintain a DOD secret clearance to start.
• Familiar with ISO 9001-2008 quality standards and QA documentation.

Responsibilities

• Quality Assurance (QA) support of all programs at the Depot, Hose/Tow Cable fabrication/repair shops and QA Receiving.
• Evaluation/Inspection of work per government work instructions, drawings, specs and guidance.
• Develop/review and implement quality plans/procedures.
• Training/scheduling of new hires.
• Perform tasks in NDA (NATSC Depot Application) and Navy configuration management system supporting QA applications.
• Tasking/scheduling of QA inspectors for all programs.
• Monitor/review audits to uncover trends or discrepancies.
• Maintain a QA Proficiency Training Program and advise the QAM annually.
• Provide training for QOP-007 Good Documentation Practices for the depot.
• Create/revise/review Quality Standard Forms and Procedures.
• Launch MRB and NTR in support of operations.
