Job summary

Appian is seeking a Quality Assurance Manager with hands-on test automation expertise to lead our QA team. You will define test strategy, scale automation frameworks (UI/API/unit/performance), and manage a team of manual and automation engineers.

You will bridge QA with software engineering, ensuring rapid CI/CD and enterprise-grade orchestration. Ideal candidates bring 8+ years in QA, 3+ years in management, and strong experience with Playwright/Selenium, Docker/Kubernetes, and GitLab CI.

Qualifications

8+ years in Quality Assurance with 3+ years in a QA management/lead role.
5+ years building test automation frameworks (UI/API/unit/performance).
CI/CD experience, DevOps integration into pipelines (GitLab CI).
Experience in API, performance, and security testing basics.
Agile/Scrum experience with Jira.

Responsibilities

Lead, mentor, and expand a QA team; set performance goals and conduct code reviews for test suites.
Design and maintain scalable test automation frameworks (UI, API, unit, performance).
Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI).
Shift testing left with QA involvement in SDLC and sprint planning.
Define quality metrics and present dashboards to leadership.
Evaluate QA tools and performance testing frameworks.
Review code changes for impact on testability and reliability.
Decompose features into detailed test tickets and identify risks.
