Job summary

Dealer Alchemist, a digital advertising agency, seeks a QA Automation Engineer to establish and lead the automated testing practice across our products. You will define a quality strategy from the ground up, standardize tooling, and own release readiness with minimal supervision.

This role is QA-first, combining frontend and API testing with mentoring, to ensure testability, rapid feedback, and durable CI/CD workflows.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional QA / test automation for modern web apps.
• Strong Playwright experience or equivalent E2E framework.
• Back-end concepts: REST APIs, debugging, and DB literacy for tests.
• Experience with API testing and automation (Postman/Swagger).
• Experience with CI/CD and Git-based workflows (GitHub Actions).
• Proven ability to work independently and drive outcomes.
• Excellent written communication in a collaborative environment.
• Must reside in the U.S. and be authorized to work without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead automated test suites for core product areas.
• Integration / API checks for critical workflows.
• PR gating with fast smoke checks, regression, and release-branch validation.
• Reporting and artifacts (screenshots, traces, videos, logs) and flake mitigation.
• Establish the test data and environment strategy — fixtures, seeding, mocks vs. real services.
• Stand up performance / load testing and collaborate on bottlenecks.
• Define and evangelize the quality-ownership model across pods and coach developers.
• Apply automation-first thinking to reduce manual overhead and build workflows.
