Job summary

BARNES & NOBLE EDUCATION, INC. seeks a QA Analyst I to support the quality and reliability of MBS applications used by internal teams and clients.

You will develop and execute test cases, document defects, and collaborate with technical and business teams to validate application changes and support issue resolution throughout the software development life cycle. AI-assisted testing tools will be used to improve efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of quality assurance testing principles and the software development life cycle.
• Ability to develop and execute test cases and scripts based on functional requirements and system designs.
• Experience using AI-assisted testing tools to improve efficiency, coverage, and accuracy.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and communicate clearly with technical and non-technical audiences.
• Familiarity with Windows-based systems, web applications, databases, and related technology environments preferred.
• Experience with IBM iSeries/AS400 or college bookstore operations is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and execute test cases and scripts based on functional requirements and system designs to validate application changes and functionality.
• Perform application testing throughout the software development life cycle, including testing of new functionality, enhancements, fixes, and releases.
• Analyze and document test results, defects, and inconsistencies, and communicate findings clearly to project teams to support timely resolution.
• Collaborate with technical and business teams to understand application functionality, investigate issues, and validate solutions.
• Assist with the investigation, testing, and resolution of escalated Tier II application support issues.
• Leverage AI-assisted tools to support test case development and execution and improve testing efficiency, coverage, and accuracy.
