Trident Systems is seeking a Software Engineer to join a hybrid team in Fairfax, VA, focusing on Predictive Maintenance & Logistics software. You will design, implement, and test Python-based software on Linux, interfacing with sensors, data stores, and external systems.

Expect collaboration across a fast-paced engineering team with documentation and demos. The role requires a strong foundation in Python, Linux/Windows development, and experience with data formats, APIs, and databases.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or equivalent with 6+ years in agile environments OR 4 years with a graduate degree (or 13 total years in lieu of a degree).
• Experience with Python software development.
• Experience developing maintainable production-quality software with modular design, error handling, and testing.
• Experience with Python libraries and frameworks for data processing, automation, APIs, and application development.
• Experience working in Linux and Windows development environments.
• Experience with data formats and interfaces (JSON, CSV, XML, REST APIs, sockets, message queues).
• Experience with PostgreSQL, SQLite, InfluxDB, or similar data storage technologies.
• Experience with Git, SVN, or similar revision control systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot software issues across applications, OS, networks, and interfaces.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.

Responsabilidades

• Design, implement, and test custom software for condition-based maintenance and internal projects.
• Develop software for data manipulation, storage, translation, sensor data capture, and export to platforms.
• Convert and integrate data into standardized messaging formats and external interfaces.
• Build and maintain software interfaces to databases, APIs, file sources, and message brokers.
• Implement algorithms for data manipulation, analysis, and presentation.
• Develop software across Linux, Windows, and Android environments with embedded hardware/software.
• Document development efforts through design docs, interface control documents, manuals, and test plans.
• Support packaging, deployment, configuration management, and troubleshooting in lab, field, and customer environments.
• Support demonstrations and customer-facing engineering activities in a fast-paced team.
