Job summary

Quest Defense is seeking a Software Engineer to support Python application development in a customer-facing environment. The role is part of an existing software team that develops, enhances, and maintains engineering applications and tools.

Hybrid work combines remote work with on-site collaboration at the customer site, especially during onboarding and integration. The ideal candidate brings strong Python skills and a solid software development foundation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Understanding of software development principles and the software development lifecycle.
• Experience writing, debugging, testing, and maintaining original application code.
• Experience with Git or other source/version control tools.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications using Python.
• Develop original application code to meet engineering and customer requirements.
• Work within an existing customer software team to implement new capabilities and enhancements.
• Translate engineering and user requirements into functional software solutions.
• Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve software issues.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, configuration management, and software release activities.
• Follow established software development practices and customer processes.
• Collaborate with engineers, software developers, and customer stakeholders.
