Job summary

Optomi, in partnership with a leading fintech company, is seeking a Python Application Engineer to design and build a scalable Python-based framework for data ingestion and processing. You will develop backend applications and APIs using FastAPI and Flask, and deploy to AWS with Lambda, ECS, and Step Functions for orchestration.

You will own the deployment lifecycle end to end, including building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, while collaborating with a scaling team to maintain coding

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in Python.
• Experience with object-oriented programming.
• Experience with FastAPI and Flask for backend development.
• Ability to build APIs and deploy to AWS.
• Experience with AWS orchestration (Step Functions, ECS, Lambda).
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Design and build custom Python-based frameworks for data ingestion, processing, and loading with scalability in mind.
• Develop and maintain backend applications and APIs using FastAPI (and Flask) following OO principles.
• Deploy Python applications and APIs to AWS using Lambda, ECS, and Step Functions for orchestration.
• Own the deployment lifecycle end to end, including building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
• Apply core programming concepts and sound software design principles to create reusable, scalable, maintainable code.
• Collaborate with the team as it scales up, helping onboard, share knowledge, and keep standards consistent.
• Leverage coding tools to speed up development and improve code quality.
