Ford Motor Company in Dearborn, MI seeks a technical leader to own R/1,000 and cost per repair metrics for low-time-in-service warranty issues. This role sits in the Dearborn Truck Plant Body Exterior Plant Vehicle Team, covering exterior trim, emblems, and front/rear-end systems.

You will lead warranty binning, root-cause investigations, containment actions, and corrective actions. Expect cross-functional collaboration, plant trials, BOM analysis, and supplier-driven changes impacting quality.

Formación

• BS in Mechanical Engineering; 4+ years in product development, quality, or manufacturing.
• Basic knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5.
• Experience with parametric 3D CAD software (SOLIDWORKS, CATIA, Siemens NX).

Responsabilidades

• Lead warranty issue binning and analysis in IRIS (Issue Resolution & Insights System).
• Lead cross-functional root cause investigations for warranty issues within the assigned vehicle functional group.
• Coordinate interim and permanent containment actions and corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Identify and implement service method improvements to reduce warranty-related costs.
• Document problem-solving activities using SIMPSN and present findings in meetings.
• Support plant First Time Through (FTT) improvements through process, supplier, and design actions.
• Support Incoming Quality (IQ) by interpreting drawings, standards, and acceptance criteria.
• Support stop-ship/stop-build/yard-hold activities to correct defects before release.
• Lead plant trials for design changes and supplier-driven changes; assess impact on quality.
• Assist BOM analysis to identify incorrect part usage and release information.
• Support launch teams in resolving carryover issues.
• Identify and implement product best practices within the vehicle functional group.
