Job summary
Ford Motor Company in Chicago is seeking a Quality Engineer to own fixed and moveable glass quality, diagnose root causes, and raise the bar on vehicle quality. You will serve as the first line of defense within Product Development, supporting Explorer, Aviator, and Explorer Interceptor programs.
You will lead plant trials, coordinate with VRT, and address design, manufacturing, and supplier issues while contributing to ongoing quality improvements and WERS-related design changes.Competitive
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent.
- 3+ years of experience with quality containment and corrective actions.
- 2+ years hands-on experience with quality/engineering systems (GSAR, JIRA, QED, AIMS, WERS, IRIS/SIMPSN).
Responsibilities
- Deliver quality improvement projects for current models to meet warranty and cost targets.
- Collaborate with VRT to drive design, manufacturing, and supplier issue improvements.
- Lead plant trials for quality, cost, and supplier improvements.
- Support plant in resolving stop ships, campaigns, quality, ergo, and FTT issues.
- Assist quality meetings, VRT report outs, and Plant Vehicle Quality Reviews.
- Trigger WERS CRs and alerts for design changes and plant trials.
