Job summary

MasTec Clean Energy & Infrastructure is seeking a field commissioning technician to inspect and test photovoltaic plants, document results, and assist with troubleshooting. You will perform LO/TO procedures, data entry, and final inspections before energization, while ensuring safety and quality.

Collaboration with commissioning managers is essential. The role requires PV installation experience, OSHA-10 and related certifications, and the ability to lead commissioning tasks with minimal

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the inspection and testing of PV plants to specifications and contract documents.
• Complete all commissioning documentation during inspection.
• Document all outstanding issues and deliver all documentation in a neat and orderly manner for review by the General Foreman and Commissioning Manager.
• Perform LOTO duties as outlined by the company and site-specific policies.
• Perform field test data entry as needed.
• Perform final visual and mechanical inspections on equipment before energization date.
• Support third party testing and inspections (Transformers, MV audits, MV cable tests).
• Ensure proper use of PPE and conformity to safety procedures by all employees.
• Keep testing equipment clean and orderly at all times. Ensure calibration is up to date.
• Report any missing or broken tools to CM/GF and inform CM/GF when consumable supplies are low.
• Care for and maintain all issued PPE in accordance with manufacturer’s specifications.
• Work together and take lead of other Techs ensuring quality of work and adherence to all safety procedures.
