Job summary

MasTec, Inc. is seeking a Commissioning Tech to work with a team performing system inspections and commissioning testing on utility PV power plants. You will document observations, test results, and assist with troubleshooting, while enforcing safety and PPE protocols.

Strong attention to detail and ability to lead others on site are required. Experience in PV systems or electrical environments, OSHA 10 or NFPA 70E preferred, and willingness to perform field testing and LOTO duties.

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred.
• PV installation experience preferred.
• Three years of electrical experience in industrial or renewables.
• OSHA 10, First Aid/CPR, NFPA 70E preferred.
• Ability to lead commissioning tasks with minimal oversight.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the inspection and testing of PV plants to specifications and contract documents
• Complete all commissioning documentation during inspection
• Document all outstanding issues and deliver all documentation in a neat and orderly manner for review by the General Foreman and Commissioning Manager
• Perform LOTO duties as outlined by the company and site‑specific policies
• Perform field test data entry as needed
• Perform final visual and mechanical inspections on equipment before energization date
• Support third‑party testing and inspections (Transformers, MV audits, MV cable tests, etc.)
• Ensure proper use of PPE and conformity to safety procedures by all employees
• Keep testing equipment clean and orderly at all times. Ensure calibration is up to date
• Report any missing or broken tools to CM/GF and inform CM/GF when consumable supplies are low
• Care for and maintain all issued PPE in accordance with manufacturer’s specifications
• Work together and take lead of other Techs ensuring quality of work and adherence to all safety procedures
• Other duties as assigned
