Job summary

MasTec, Inc. is seeking a PV Inspection Technician to work in a team performing system inspections on utility PV power plants. You will document inspections, observations, and test results, and assist with troubleshooting and corrective actions.

You will complete commissioning documentation, support field tests, and ensure PPE compliance while maintaining equipment and safety procedures in a dynamic field environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• PV systems knowledge or training preferred.
• PV installation experience.
• One year of electrical experience required.
• OSHA 10-hour, First Aid/CPR, NFPA 70E certifications preferred.
• Ability to complete tasks with minimal oversight.

Responsibilities

• Assist with inspection of PV plants to specifications of construction documents.
• Complete all commissioning documentation during inspection.
• Document all outstanding issues and deliver all documentation neatly for review by CX CM/GF.
• Assist Commissioning CM/GF with field test data entry as needed.
• Perform final visual and mechanical inspections on equipment before energization date.
• Support third party testing and inspections (Transformers, MV audits, MV cable tests, etc.).
• Ensure proper use of PPE and conformity to safety procedures by all employees.
• Keep testing equipment clean and up-to-date, calibrations maintained.
• Report missing/broken equipment and low consumables to CX CM/GF.
• Care for and maintain all issued PPE per manufacturer’s specs.
• Collaborate with other Techs to ensure quality and safety compliance.
• Other duties as assigned.
