Job summary

The AES Corporation in Nebraska is seeking a Solar Technician II to support O&M activities for utility-scale solar PV sites, including the Platteview project near Ashland. You will perform maintenance, switching, and safety procedures to ensure reliable energy delivery.

Qualifications

• 2-year technical degree or equivalent Journeyman qualifications (plus)
• Three or more years’ experience as a PV O&M solar technician
• Five or more years’ experience in a power plant and 1+ year in PV Solar O&M or Construction
• Knowledge of electrical/mechanical fundamentals and control devices
• Ability to read, write and understand English
• Demonstrates proactive problem solving and continuous improvement mindset

Responsibilities

• Perform assigned O&M activities for solar PV sites and substations
• Conduct corrective, preventive, and emergency maintenance safely
• Prepare and implement switching and clearance orders
• Ensure compliance with environmental and safety requirements
• Work independently or in crews and mentor others
