Job summary

AES CE is seeking a Solar Technician II to support O&M activities at the Platteview project near Ashland, Nebraska. The role requires hands-on maintenance of solar PV sites and substations, with a focus on safety and reliability. Travel to the site and daily commuting are expected.

Ideal candidates will have a technical degree or Journeyman qualification, 3+ years in PV O&M, and 5+ years in a power plant with PV/O&M/construction exposure. Strong problem-solving and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Possess 2-year technical degree or equivalent Journeyman qualifications.
• Three (3) or more years’ experience as a PV O&M solar technician.
• Five (5) or more years’ experience in a power plant and one (1) or more years’ experience in PV Solar O&M or Construction.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for assigned O&M activities for solar PV sites and substations.
• Performs corrective, preventive, and emergency maintenance and operations on equipment such as SunGrow inverters and ATI trackers.
• Prepares and implements switching and clearance orders.
• Ensures work complies with Environmental and Safety requirements.
• Works independently or in crews and may supervise others.
