Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology, Inc. seeks a Microsoft Purview Records Management SME to design and implement Purview RM solutions across Microsoft 365 applications. You will drive compliance with federal records laws and oversee lifecycle management, retention schedules, and security modeling.

You will lead policy development, enable staff training, and coordinate with IT, legal, and compliance teams. Hands-on experience with Purview, M365, and RBAC is essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or experience in lieu of degree with 10+ years in records management.
• Deep expertise in Purview, M365, and Azure AD with hands-on configuration of records management, compliance, and security.
• Strong knowledge of federal records management regulations (NARA, 44 U.S.C., 36 CFR).
• Experience with RBAC, policy development, and audit processes.
• Familiarity with e‑discovery, litigation hold, and information protection modules.
• Excellent communication skills for training, documentation, and stakeholder engagement.
• Ability to manage complex projects and collaborate across IT, legal, and compliance teams.

Responsibilities

• Records Management Solution Design: architect and configure Purview Records Management with retention labels and scopes for SharePoint/Exchange/OneDrive/Teams.
• Compliance & Governance: ensure processes comply with federal laws and support audits and reporting.
• Lifecycle Management: oversee creation, maintenance, preservation, and disposition of records.
• RBAC & Security: manage Purview roles to ensure secure access and segregation of duties.
• Policy Development: draft and maintain electronic records policies and SOPs.
• Training & Awareness: develop and deliver records management training for staff and leaders.
• E-Discovery & Litigation Hold: support e‑discovery case management and audit logs.
• Data Loss Prevention & Information Protection: configure DLP policies and sensitivity labels across multi-cloud.
