Job summary

Encompass Health Corporation is seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic in Florida to maintain hospital systems and support facility reliability. You will perform preventive maintenance, repairs, and tasks across mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and related areas to ensure a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; work experience considered
• Licensing in electrical, plumbing, or HVAC preferred
• Experience in preventive maintenance, equipment repair, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or construction; healthcare experience a plus
• Must be able to lift 50 lb and handle position changes and safety protocols

Responsibilities

• Test and operate emergency power supply system (EPSS) safely and effectively.
• Install/maintain/repair mechanical, electrical, HVAC, pneumatic, oxygen, and telephone systems.
• Work independently within assigned time frames under supervisor direction.
• Retain knowledge of auto, carpentry, phone, pneumatics, hydraulics, and related skills.
• Plan and document work; report daily completion to supervisor.
• Perform control maintenance, building construction/repair, and equipment overhaul as required.
• Maintain knowledge of facility systems and regulatory standards.
