Job summary

Soundair Aviation Services is seeking a Purchasing Administrator to handle aviation material procurement and inventory control in support of repair activities.

You will maintain vendor relations, process POs, perform heavy data entry, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure on-time delivery and accuracy of materials.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; 3 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination.
  • Prefer certificate or two year degree in business or related field or three years in administrative or customer service support role or combination.
  • One year in Purchasing, preferably in aviation.
  • Must be self-motivated with good organization and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Purchase unique bench stock, piece parts, and end items for ongoing repair activity while minimizing costs.
  • Maintain control of inventories, transactions, and generate reports as required.
  • Provide administrative and purchasing support including heavy data entry, issuing and expediting POs, and updating MRP system.
  • Develop and maintain vendor relations; contact vendors about discrepancies and determine shipment status.
  • Generate, verify, and interpret receiver reports and other reports; work with receiving to ensure supplies arrive.
  • Collaborate with sales, technical, accounting, operations, and logistics to resolve issues; perform other duties as assigned.

Overview of the Position:

Responsible for the activities relating to purchasing aviation material.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for purchasing unique bench stock, piece parts, and end items in support of ongoing repair activity while minimizing purchase costs.
  • Maintain control of various inventories, related transactions, and report generation as required by management.
  • Provide administrative and purchasing support including heavy data entry, inventory evaluation, issuing and expediting PO's, maintaining consumables and supplies, and updating MRP system.
  • Develop and maintain vendor relations. Problem solve issues related to purchase orders and materials received. Contact vendors regarding discrepancies with quantity and quality, determine shipment status of orders, and trace delinquent arrivals from purchase orders.
  • Generate, verify, and interpret incoming receiver reports and other various reports.
  • Work closely with receiving department to ensure proper supplies have arrived.
  • Work closely with sales, technical, accounting, operations, and logistics personnel and resolves issues with as needed.
  • Other duties that may be assigned.

Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Prefer certificate or two year degree in business or related field or three years in administrative or customer service support role or combination.
  • One year in Purchasing, preferably in aviation.
  • Must be self‑motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Great organization skills, team oriented, ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Excellent phone skills and able to communicate effectively.
  • Above average MS Office Skills and type 40+ wpm.
  • Proficient with spreadsheet, presentation, and project management software.
  • Very process oriented.
  • Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings and electronic schematics.
Requirements

Education / Experience Requirements: High school diploma or GED required. 3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Pay Range

The estimated pay range for this job. Disclosing pay information promotes competitive and equitable pay.
The actual pay rate will depend on the person's qualifications and experience. $27.00 - $34.00 / hour
