Job summary

Soundair Aviation Services in the Northwest Snohomish region seeks a Purchasing Specialist to manage aviation material purchases, control bench stock and end items, and minimize costs while supporting ongoing repair activity.

You will collaborate across sales, technical, accounting, operations, and logistics, maintain supplier relations, verify receipts, and issue and expedite POs to ensure on-time availability.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination.
• Certificate or two-year degree in business or related field preferred; aviation purchasing experience a plus.
• Must be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
• Excellent MS Office skills and 40+ WPM typing.

Responsibilities

• Purchases unique bench stock, piece parts, and end items to support ongoing repair activity while minimizing costs.
• Maintain control of inventories, transactions, and report generation.
• Provide admin and purchasing support including data entry, evaluating inventory, issuing and expediting POs, and updating MRP system.
• Develop and maintain vendor relations; resolve PO and material discrepancies; track shipments and delinquencies.
• Generate, verify, and interpret receiver and other reports; coordinate with receiving department.
• Collaborate with sales, technical, accounting, operations, and logistics to resolve issues.

Overview of the Position

Responsible for the activities relating to purchasing aviation material.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for purchasing unique bench stock, piece parts, and end items in support of ongoing repair activity while minimizing purchase costs.
• Maintain control of various inventories, related transactions, and report generation as required by management.
• Provide administrative and purchasing support including heavy data entry, inventory evaluation, issuing and expediting PO's, maintaining consumables and supplies, and updating MRP system.
• Develop and maintain vendor relations. Problem solve issues related to purchase orders and materials received. Contact vendors regarding discrepancies with quantity and quality, determine shipment status of orders, and trace delinquent arrivals from purchase orders.
• Generate, verify, and interpret incoming receiver reports and other various reports.
• Work closely with receiving department to ensure proper supplies have arrived.
• Work closely with sales, technical, accounting, operations, and logistics personnel and resolves issues with as needed.
• Other duties that may be assigned.

Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Prefer certificate or two year degree in business or related field or three years in administrative or customer service support role or combination.
• One year in Purchasing, preferably in aviation.
• Must be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
• Great organization skills, team oriented, ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent phone skills and able to communicate effectively.
• Above average MS Office Skills and type 40+ wpm.
• Proficient with spreadsheet, presentation, and project management software.
• Very process oriented.
• Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings and electronic schematics.

Requirements

Education / Experience Requirements: High school diploma or GED required. 3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Pay Range

The estimated pay range for this job. Disclosing pay information promotes competitive and equitable pay. The actual pay rate will depend on the person's qualifications and experience.

$27.00 - $34.00 / hour
