Job summary

Soundair Aviation Services in Snohomish, WA is seeking a Purchasing professional to manage aviation material purchasing for ongoing repair activity. The role focuses on acquiring bench stock, parts, and end items while controlling costs and ensuring timely deliveries.

You will maintain inventory records, issue and expedite POs, develop vendor relations, and collaborate with receiving, sales, and logistics to resolve issues. A high school diploma and 3 years related experience are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; 3 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination.
• One year in Purchasing, preferably in aviation.
• Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings and electronic schematics.
• Excellent phone skills and able to communicate effectively.
• Very process oriented.
• Proficient with spreadsheet, presentation, and project management software.

Responsibilities

• Purchase aviation material including bench stock, parts, and end items while minimizing costs.
• Maintain inventories, related transactions, and generate reports as required by management.
• Provide purchasing support including data entry, issuing and expediting POs, and updating MRP system.

Overview of the Position:

Responsible for the activities relating to purchasing aviation material.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for purchasing unique bench stock, piece parts, and end items in support of ongoing repair activity while minimizing purchase costs.
• Maintain control of various inventories, related transactions, and report generation as required by management.
• Provide administrative and purchasing support including heavy data entry, inventory evaluation, issuing and expediting PO's, maintaining consumables and supplies, and updating MRP system.
• Develop and maintain vendor relations. Problem solve issues related to purchase orders and materials received. Contact vendors regarding discrepancies with quantity and quality, determine shipment status of orders, and trace delinquent arrivals from purchase orders.
• Generate, verify, and interpret incoming receiver reports and other various reports.
• Work closely with receiving department to ensure proper supplies have arrived.
• Work closely with sales, technical, accounting, operations, and logistics personnel and resolves issues with as needed.
• Other duties that may be assigned.

Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Prefer certificate or two year degree in business or related field or three years in administrative or customer service support role or combination.
• One year in Purchasing, preferably in aviation.
• Must be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
• Great organization skills, team oriented, ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent phone skills and able to communicate effectively.
• Above average MS Office Skills and type 40+ wpm.
• Proficient with spreadsheet, presentation, and project management software.
• Very process oriented.
• Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings and electronic schematics.

Education / Experience Requirements:
