Job summary

American Wheatley is seeking a Purchasing Agent to support procurement operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. No degree is required and we offer training for the right candidate.

Responsibilities include sourcing, quoting, issuing POs, tracking deliveries, and collaborating with production, engineering and accounting to ensure material availability and cost efficiency. Location is on-site at our Broken Arrow, OK facility with an opportunity to grow in an employee-owned company

Qualifications

• Minimum 2–3 years purchasing experience in manufacturing or industrial settings.
• Ability to read blueprints, BOMs and technical specs is a strong plus.
• Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and Excel for data analysis.
• Excellent communication and vendor negotiation skills.
• High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Assist in sourcing, quoting and purchasing raw materials, components and MRO supplies.
• Issue purchase orders, track deliveries and resolve supplier discrepancies.
• Maintain purchasing records in ERP system and monitor supplier performance.
• Collaborate with production, engineering and accounting to ensure material availability.
• Support vendor qualification, negotiation and relationship management.
• Monitor inventory levels and assist with cycle counts or replenishment.
• Handle expediting of critical orders and freight coordination.
