Job summary

Stand-By Personnel, Inc. is seeking a motivated Purchasing Agent for a manufacturing role in Tulsa, Oklahoma. You will source materials, manage purchase orders, coordinate with suppliers, and ensure production has the materials needed to maintain efficient operations.

The position is ideal for a candidate with 2–3 years of hands-on experience eager to grow in procurement. Comprehensive on-the-job training will be provided, including training on the company’s ERP system.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of purchasing experience in manufacturing/industrial environment.
• Experience sourcing raw materials, components, and MRO supplies.
• Familiarity with purchase orders, supplier quotes, pricing, and delivery tracking.
• Experience using ERP/MRP systems such as Epicor, SAP, NetSuite, or similar.
• Strong Excel skills including pivot tables and VLOOKUP for data analysis.
• Ability to negotiate with vendors and communicate with internal departments.
• Attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Understanding of inventory management and material availability.

Responsibilities

• Assist with sourcing, quoting, and purchasing raw materials, manufacturing components, and MRO supplies based on production schedules and inventory requirements.
• Prepare and issue purchase orders, track supplier deliveries, and ensure materials arrive according to production needs.
• Communicate with vendors to resolve pricing discrepancies, quality concerns, delivery delays, and other purchasing issues.
• Maintain accurate purchasing records in the ERP system, including PO status and costs.
• Collaborate with Production, Engineering, and Accounting to coordinate requirements and cost efficiency.
• Support vendor qualification, supplier negotiations, and ongoing relationship management.
• Monitor inventory levels and assist with stock replenishment planning and cycle counts.
• Expedite urgent orders and coordinate freight when necessary.
• Review purchasing information to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve processes.
• Maintain organized documentation and follow purchasing procedures.
