Job summary

UHS is seeking a Purchasing Specialist to help coordinate procurement, stocking, distribution, and tracking of supplies and equipment for the behavioral health hospital. You will support daily operations, CAPRAC requests, and EOC activities while ensuring timely availability of supplies.

You will also handle minor IT tasks and partner with vendors to maintain accurate records and drive cost efficiencies. Strong attention to detail and responsive service are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate's Degree preferred in Business, Supply Chain Management, Healthcare Administration, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate purchasing, receiving, stocking, and distribution of supplies, equipment, and materials for the hospital.
• Monitor inventory levels and maintain stock to support daily operations and patient care.
• Coordinate with vendors on orders, deliveries, product issues, and procurement needs.

Responsibilities

Position Summary

This role supports daily supply chain operations, including ordering, receiving, inventory control, vendor coordination, management of the CAPRAC process for departmental supply and equipment requests, and participation in Environment of Care (EOC) Committee activities and environmental rounds. The position also assists with minor IT tasks such as toner replacement, basic troubleshooting, and coordinating small equipment repairs or replacements. The Purchasing Specialist ensures timely availability of supplies and supports operational efficiency through accurate documentation, responsive service, and strong attention to detail.

Qualifications

• BLS/First Aid Certification (or ability to obtain per facility requirements)
• Handle With Care Certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)
• Verbal De-escalation Training (or ability to obtain upon hire)
• Valid Washington State Driver's License with a clean driving record

Experience

• Required:One (1) to three (3) years of purchasing, inventory management, materials management, supply chain, or related experience
• Preferred:Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in healthcare, behavioral health, hospital operations, or a similar environment Licensure / Certification
