Job summary

UHS is seeking a Purchasing Specialist to help coordinate procurement, stocking, distribution, and tracking of supplies and equipment for the behavioral health hospital. You will support daily operations, CAPRAC requests, and EOC activities while ensuring timely availability of supplies.

You will also handle minor IT tasks and partner with vendors to maintain accurate records and drive cost efficiencies. Strong attention to detail and responsive service are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate's Degree preferred in Business, Supply Chain Management, Healthcare Administration, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate purchasing, receiving, stocking, and distribution of supplies, equipment, and materials for the hospital.
• Monitor inventory levels and maintain stock to support daily operations and patient care.
• Coordinate with vendors on orders, deliveries, product issues, and procurement needs.
• Support CAPRAC process for department supply and equipment requests.
• Maintain accurate purchasing, inventory, and receiving records.
• Participate in Environment of Care (EOC) activities and environmental rounds.
• Provide basic IT support such as toner replacement and routine troubleshooting.
• Assist with coordinating minor equipment repairs or replacements with vendors and support services.
• Analyze inventory usage and purchasing trends to identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Deliver responsive customer service to hospital departments and support operational excellence.
