Job summary

Universal Hospital Services Inc. is seeking a Purchasing Specialist to coordinate procurement, stocking, distribution, and tracking of supplies across the behavioral health hospital.

You will support daily supply chain operations, manage CAPRAC requests, and assist with basic IT tasks such as toner replacement and routine troubleshooting. Ideal candidates have 1–3 years in purchasing or inventory management, with high school diploma or GED; associate degree preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
• 1–3 years in purchasing/inventory/materials management or related field.
• BLS/First Aid certification or ability to obtain per facility requirements.
• Handle With Care certification or ability to obtain upon hire.
• Verbal de-escalation training or ability to obtain upon hire.
• Valid Washington State driver's license with clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Deliver responsive service to hospital departments and support operational excellence.

Responsibilities

The Purchasing Specialist is responsible for coordinating the procurement, stocking, distribution, and tracking of supplies, equipment, and materials for the behavioral health hospital. This role supports daily supply chain operations, including ordering, receiving, inventory control, vendor coordination, management of the CAPRAC process for departmental supply and equipment requests, and participation in Environment of Care (EOC) Committee activities and environmental rounds. The position also assists with minor IT tasks such as toner replacement, basic troubleshooting, and coordinating small equipment repairs or replacements. The Purchasing Specialist ensures timely availability of supplies and supports operational efficiency through accurate documentation, responsive service, and strong attention to detail.

Qualifications

Experience
