Qualifications

• 2–3 years of hands-on Microsoft Dynamics 365 experience with purchasing, PO creation and vendor management.
• Advanced Excel skills including PivotTables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP and reporting.
• 2+ years of purchasing/procurement experience, preferably in construction or project-based environments.

Responsibilities

• Issue RFQs to multiple vendors and compare bids on price, lead time, freight, terms and value.
• Create, issue, revise, and maintain accurate purchase orders in Microsoft Dynamics 365.
• Review BOMs, drawings, specifications, substitutions, and change orders with engineering and project management.
• Track open POs, confirm vendor acknowledgements, expedite materials, and resolve shortages or backorders.
• Coordinate delivery timing, jobsite drop-offs, urgent pickups, and material needs with field crews and vendors.
• Maintain purchasing data, vendor records, pricing history, PO status reports, spend tracking and compliance docs.

Job Summary

We are seeking a Purchasing Specialist who enjoys keeping field crews supplied, solving urgent material needs, and working closely with engineering, project management, finance, warehouse, and construction teams.

As a Purchasing Specialist, you will source and purchase key project materials, including modules, inverters, racking, BESS equipment, electrical BOS, and jobsite supplies. You will turn engineering BOMs into accurate purchase orders, manage vendor quotes, track open POs, and help ensure materials arrive on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

• Issue RFQs to multiple vendors and compare bids based on price, lead time, freight, terms, and overall project value.


• Create, issue, revise, and maintain accurate purchase orders in Microsoft Dynamics 365.


• Partner with engineering and project management to review BOMs, drawings, specifications, substitutions, and change orders.


• Track open POs, confirm vendor acknowledgements, expedite critical materials, and resolve shortages, damages, and backorders.


• Coordinate delivery timing, jobsite drop-offs, urgent pickups, and material needs with field crews, vendors, warehouse, and site leads.


• Maintain purchasing data, vendor records, pricing history, PO status reports, spend tracking, and documentation for compliance requirements.

• $36 to $40 per hour.


• Temp-to-hire.


• Monday through Friday. 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.


• Santa Ana, CA area.100% Onsite.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• 2 to 3 years of hands-on Microsoft Dynamics 365 experience, including purchasing, PO creation, and vendor management.


• Advanced Excel skills, including PivotTables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, conditional formulas, trackers, and reporting.


• 2+ years of purchasing, procurement, or buying experience, ideally in construction or project-based environments.


• Proven ability to manage multi-vendor RFQs and evaluate bids beyond unit price.


• Strong organization, follow-through, and ability to manage many open purchase orders at once.


• Clear, responsive communication skills with field crews, engineers, vendors, finance, and internal teams.


• Ability to thrive under daily deadlines, shifting priorities, and fast-paced construction support needs.


• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience buying for solar, battery storage, electrical, or general construction projects.


• Familiarity with solar equipment, including modules, inverters, racking, BESS, and electrical BOS.


• Working knowledge of freight coordination, lead-time planning, and supply chain disruptions.


• Exposure to tariff, country-of-origin, or tax credit documentation.


• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field.
