Job summary

Four Seasons Resort Hualālai is seeking a Purchasing Manager – Retail to lead strategic sourcing and inventory management for the resort's luxury retail operations. You will work closely with Retail Management, vendors, and resort leaders to optimize procurement, drive profitability, and ensure brand standards are upheld.

The role requires at least 3 years in purchasing/procurement with a background in luxury hospitality or retail.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of progressive experience in purchasing, procurement, inventory management, retail operations, supply chain, hospitality, or related field.
• Experience in luxury hospitality, retail merchandising, or strategic sourcing preferred.
• Strong understanding of purchasing processes, inventory controls and vendor management.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Proficiency with purchasing systems, inventory management software, and Microsoft Office applications.
• Passion for luxury hospitality and delivering exceptional results.

Responsibilities

• Lead all retail purchasing activities to ensure timely procurement of merchandise and operational supplies.
• Monitor inventory levels, sales trends, and purchasing forecasts to maximize profitability and maintain ideal stock levels.
• Build and maintain strong vendor partnerships while negotiating pricing, product selection, delivery schedules, and service agreements.
• Collaborate with Retail Leadership to identify and introduce merchandise that aligns with guest preferences, market trends, and brand standards.
• Maintain accurate purchasing documentation, inventory records, pricing updates, and purchase orders.
• Analyze purchasing performance, inventory turnover, and retail metrics to identify opportunities for improvement and cost savings.
• Coordinate inventory counts, audits, reconciliations, and cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy.
• Manage returns, damaged merchandise claims, vendor credits, and pricing discrepancies.
• Support a culture of collaboration, professionalism, and service excellence across the resort.

PURCHASING MANAGER – RETAIL

The Purchasing Manager - Retail plays a vital role in supporting the success of the Resort's retail operations through strategic sourcing, inventory management, vendor partnerships, and merchandise procurement. This position ensures optimal inventory levels, drives operational efficiency, and helps curate a retail assortment that enhances the guest experience while supporting revenue goals.

Working closely with Retail Management, vendors, and resort leaders, the Purchasing Manager will oversee purchasing strategies that reflect the luxury standards and service excellence synonymous with Four Seasons.

What You’ll Do

What To Bring

• Successful candidate must possess legal work authorization in United States
• Minimum three years of progressive experience in purchasing, procurement, inventory management, retail operations, supply chain, hospitality, or a related field.
• Previous luxury hospitality, retail merchandising, or strategic sourcing experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of purchasing processes, inventory controls, and vendor management.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Proficiency with purchasing systems, inventory management software, and Microsoft Office applications.
