Position Summary

Shaver Foods is seeking a full-time, on-site Purchasing Manager to lead procurement activities, manage vendor relationships, and oversee inventory levels across multi-million dollar product categories. The ideal candidate will be responsible for sourcing goods and services, negotiating contracts, ensuring timely deliveries, and supporting overall supply chain effectiveness. International or import purchasing experience is a plus.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the procurement process for assigned product categories
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with both domestic and international vendors
• Build and maintain strong vendor relationships
• Research and source new suppliers and products
• Oversee inventory levels to optimize stock and minimize costs
• Process purchase orders and manage order changes efficiently
• Collaborate with purchasing, transportation, planning, and sales teams to meet company goals
• Resolve product or vendor-related issues, inquiries, and complaints
• Meet performance targets and deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Finance, Industrial Engineering, or related field
• Minimum of 2 years of related purchasing/procurement experience (preferably in food distribution or similar industry)
• Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
• Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal abilities
• Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills
• High attention to detail and ability to multitask under pressure
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel; familiarity with procurement software
• Ability to work cross-functionally with multiple departments and stakeholders

Preferred Attributes

• Experience with international or import purchasing
• Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership and pride in performance
• Comfortable working in a high-paced, team-driven environment

This is a full-time, on-site role based in Fayetteville, AR. While primarily in-person, hybrid or remote work options may be considered for the right candidate based on performance and business needs.
