Job summary

Schlumberger is seeking a Purchasing Leader for our New Energy & Industrial Data Center team in Houston. You will own the purchasing plan, enforce procedures, and work with planning and production teams to optimize lead times and costs.

You will manage POs, ensure supplier contract compliance, and drive continuous improvement across the function. Applicants should have a bachelor's degree in engineering or supply chain, proven leadership, and SAP experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or supply chain.
• Demonstrated commitment to positive change throughout the supply chain.
• Strong problem solving skills.
• Continuous process improvement mindset with Lean/Six Sigma experience.
• Experience leading teams in supply chain activities.
• Strong working knowledge of ERP systems (SAP).

Responsibilities

• Execute and own the purchasing plan for items in the assigned group.
• Participate in planning reviews and align supply with planning and production.
• Enforce and monitor purchasing procedures.
• Set action plans to improve lead time, reduce cost, and ensure on-time delivery.
• Review and manage open POs from requisition to payment.
• Handle past-due POs and refine material master settings.
• Review non-BOM POs for proper approvals and spend tracking.
• Report PO statistics to the Supply Chain Manager.
• Identify cost drivers and work with stakeholders to optimize resources.
• Participate in regular financial and inventory reviews.
• Ensure adherence to supplier agreements and contracts.
• Support Finance and Logistics in resolving discrepancies.
• Implement continuous improvement initiatives in Supply Chain.
• Deliver a high-performing workforce and reduce waste.
• Comply with Schlumberger procedures and local requirements.
• Perform all other duties as directed by management.
