Job summary

Martin's is seeking a Purchasing Intern to compile information and prepare purchase orders for procurement of materials. The role includes cycle counts, inventory adjustments, and assisting with warehouse management issues using Oracle.

The intern will liaise between Accounting, Purchasing, and Receiving, support supplier communications, and provide data-driven purchasing planning while adhering to safety and Good Manufacturing Practices.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Currently attending an accredited university or college majoring in Supply Chain or related field.

Responsibilities

• Reviews requisitions for clarity and accuracy, obtains current quotes from suppliers and processes requisitions to purchase orders.
• Manages approval workflow of purchase orders, ensuring appropriate parties review and approve all purchases prior to transmission of PO to supplier.
• Communicates with Supplier regarding anticipated delivery, stock concerns and approved alternate items when needed.
• Monitors past due or partially received POs to ensure all items are received prior to payment.
• Works with accounting to resolve supplier payment discrepancies and issues.
