Job summary

Intramotev in St. Louis, MO is seeking a Purchasing Co-Op to support day-to-day purchasing for our self-propelled battery-electric railcars and vehicles.

Under the Supply Chain Lead, you will create and track purchase orders in Odoo, chase quotes, and resolve invoice discrepancies against POs and receipts. This 100% in-office, part-time during the school year and full-time during summers, offers hands-on, production-oriented experience in a small engineering and manufacturing team with no travel

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree with time before graduation.
• Detail-oriented, organized, reliable with repetitive, detail-heavy work such as PO entry and invoice matching.
• Comfortable learning new ERP and software systems; no prior Odoo experience required, training provided.
• Able to work in our St. Louis, MO office and communicate in English.

Responsibilities

• Create, issue, and track purchase orders in the Odoo ERP system for approved sourcing categories.
• Match supplier invoices against purchase orders and receipts, flag discrepancies for follow-up.
• Follow up on open POs, confirm ship and delivery dates, and escalate late or at-risk material.
• Execute RFQs and place quotes and orders with distributors (Mouser, DigiKey, McMaster-Carr).

Role Overview

We are seeking a Purchasing Co-Op to join our Supply Chain team and support the day-to-day purchasing that keeps our self-propelled battery-electric railcars and vehicles moving from design into build. Working under the direction of the Supply Chain Lead, you will create and track purchase orders in Odoo, our ERP, chase quotes and order status with distributors such as Mouser, DigiKey, and McMaster-Carr, and help resolve invoice discrepancies against POs and receipts. It is hands-on tactical purchasing work on real production material, not a shadowing assignment. This is an hourly, non-exempt co-op position, 100% in-office in St. Louis, MO, with a schedule that flexes to your courseload — part-time alongside a full course load during the school year and full-time over summers and breaks. You'll work within a team of 2–4 inside our Engineering and Manufacturing organization, and no travel is required.

Key Responsibilities

• Purchase Order Execution: Create, issue, and track purchase orders in the Odoo ERP system for approved sourcing categories.
• Invoice Resolution Support: Match supplier invoices against purchase orders and receipts, and flag discrepancies for supplier or internal follow-up.
• Order Tracking & Expediting: Follow up on open purchase orders, confirm ship and delivery dates, and elevate late or at‑risk material.
• RFQ Support: Execute requests for quote directed by the Supply Chain Lead — sending requests, logging supplier responses, and following up with non‑responsive vendors.
• Distributor Ordering: Place and chase quotes and orders with electronic‑component and industrial distributors, including Mouser, DigiKey, and McMaster-Carr.

Compensation & Benefits

Hourly rate: $18–$22 per hour. This position is not eligible for Intramotev's full‑time employee benefits package.

About You: Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in supply chain, business, operations, or a related field, with time remaining before graduation.
• Detail‑oriented and organized, and reliable on repetitive, detail‑heavy work such as purchase order entry and invoice matching.
• Comfortable learning new ERP and software systems; no prior Odoo experience is required, and training will be provided.
• Open‑minded and comfortable working in a teaming environment as an individual contributor.
• Clear, professional written communication for supplier‑facing correspondence, and comfortable escalating or asking questions rather than guessing on ambiguous items.
• Able to work consistent hours in our St. Louis, MO office around your courseload.
• Fluent in both written and verbal English.
• U.S. Person (immigration or work visa sponsorship will not be provided).

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)

Candidate should have a working knowledge of one or (ideally) multiple areas listed below:

• Prior internship, co‑op, or work experience touching purchasing, procurement, logistics, or ERP systems.
• Exposure to electronic‑component or industrial distributors such as Mouser, DigiKey, or McMaster‑Carr.
• Coursework in supply chain, operations, or business analytics.
• Comfort organizing purchasing or vendor data in spreadsheets (Excel, Google Sheets, or similar).
• Interest in rail, electric vehicles, automotive, aerospace, or another hardware manufacturing environment.

Typical Education And Experience

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor and/or Master), supported by relevant coursework or university project experience in supply chain, operations, or business.
