Job summary

Air Fayre Ca Inc in Gardena, CA is seeking a Purchasing Coordinator to manage replenishment orders, monitor supplier confirmations, and maintain inventory levels for our 24/7 airline catering operation. You will collaborate with purchasing, operations, and suppliers to ensure timely deliveries and accurate PO processing.

The ideal candidate has about 3 years in purchasing or inventory control, strong Excel and data analysis skills, and the ability to work flexible hours in a fast-paced

Qualifications

• Approximately 3 years of purchasing, procurement, inventory control, or supply chain experience; food service experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of supply chain management in a logistics or assembly environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, especially Excel; Microsoft Dynamics experience preferred.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical computations, analyze inventory data, identify discrepancies, and draw valid conclusions.
• Highly organized, analytical, and detail-oriented, with strong follow-through and the ability to meet deadlines.
• Flexible regarding work schedule in a 24/7 operation; bilingual English and Spanish is a plus.
• APICS coursework in purchasing, inventory management, or material requirements planning is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process replenishment orders for materials, supplies, equipment, and airline catering products.
• Compile item, supplier, and order quantity information provided by the Purchasing Manager.
• Create and submit purchase orders to airline-contracted and local suppliers, including orders placed through vendor websites.
• Monitor supplier confirmations, shipments, and promised delivery dates.
• Follow up on open orders and communicate potential shortages or late deliveries to operations.
• Maintain accurate inventory and purchasing records in supplier and Air Fayre systems.
• Help establish target inventory, safety stock, and replenishment quantities based on current inventory and outstanding orders.
• Coordinate orders for airline-contracted products, fresh food, beverages, special meals, disposables, rotables, equipment, and charter products.
• Review inventory trends and abnormal movements to help prevent shortages, surplus, waste, and shrinkage.
• Establish and maintain positive working relationships with suppliers and internal teams.

Mission of role

We’re looking for a detail-oriented Purchasing Coordinator to process replenishment orders for materials, supplies, and equipment under the direction of the Purchasing Manager. This role helps ensure accurate purchase orders, timely supplier confirmations and deliveries, and appropriate inventory levels across our 24/7 airline catering operation.

You’ll work closely with purchasing, operations, inventory teams, and suppliers to identify shortages, coordinate replenishment, and maintain reliable product availability.
