Job summary

Michigan Solar Solutions is seeking a Purchasing Assistant to support the Purchasing team in maintaining efficient operations. You will assist with purchasing tasks, manage inventory, and help ensure timely receipt of goods for electrical and solar equipment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate degree is preferred.
• 1–2 years of experience in purchasing, inventory management or a related field.
• Familiarity with electrical equipment and solar products is highly valued.
• Proficiency with inventory management systems and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Purchasing support: source electrical and solar equipment; collaborate with Purchasing Manager.
• Prepare purchase orders and track deliveries for timely receipt.
• Maintain records of vendor quotes, POs and invoices.
• Conduct price comparisons and negotiate favorable terms with suppliers.
• Forecast inventory needs based on historical data and project requirements.
• Maintain inventory records and update the system regularly; assist with cycle counts.

The Purchasing Assistant will support the Purchasing team in maintaining efficient operations. This role involves assisting with purchasing tasks and managing inventory. Familiarity with electrical equipment and proficiency with computer systems are essential, as the position requires regular use of our inventory management software.
