Job description

Job Title: Purchasing Assistant

Join to apply for the Purchasing Assistant role at Premier Healthcare, LLC.

This position reports directly to the Purchasing Manager and involves working with all levels of employees at the facilities.

Responsibilities Include:

  1. Ensure all purchase orders are properly prepared, approved, and submitted according to procurement policies and procedures.
  2. Assist in preparing correspondence and claims concerning damaged merchandise, errors in shipment, etc., and coordinate returns to vendors; follow up on back orders.
  3. Prepare product comparisons for quality and costs; develop relationships with vendors to seek the best pricing.
  4. Ensure facilities are properly charged for received supplies for budgeting and cost allocation.
  5. Fill requisitions from departments for routine supplies and equipment, and follow up with vendors if supplies are not delivered as promised.
  6. Monitor utilization to identify underuse or overuse of supplies.
  7. Answer staff inquiries regarding products and supplies, and provide training and in-service as needed.
  8. Regularly review vendors and budgets; research new vendors and processes to improve savings and efficiencies.
  9. Research new product pricing and innovative programming, and present findings to the Purchasing Manager and/or VP of Procurement.

Qualifications include excellent organization and communication skills, eagerness to learn, and experience with Microsoft Excel. Salary is commensurate with experience.
